Certificates were awarded for 100% attendance, Football, WOWS Sports Activities, SPLAT, Rugby Tournament,Swimming, Treble Recorder
Shaun won an award for showing all the qualities needed for the Olympics

Olympic Week
We have lots planned for this week.
A visit by Paralympian Josie Cichockyj as part of her Paralympic School Tour, she told us all about her life and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to her.
A visitor brought in the Olympic torch which was passed around during assembly.
'Pop Project' A history of the Olympics through song.
An Olympic Concert, Sports Days, as well as Zumba sessions with Gemma.
Mrs Atherton and Miss Fletcher have created a WOWS Olympic Art Display and all classes have been creating their own olympic theme for the hall.

Jubilee Celebrations
All classes have been learning about the Queen and the celebrations to be held this year.
Friday 1st June - Jubilee celebration street party.
Our Queen and her Consort were Amy and Daniel from Y6.
We have also planted a Jubilee Oak as well as other trees and shrubs, donated by the Woodlands Trust.

Annual trip to Robinwood Activity Centre
Wigan Warriors
Wigan Warriors visited on Thursday and gave an assembly about being a team player as well as rugby skills throughout the day. Everyone had the chance to have their photo taken with the Challenge Cup!!

Anti-Bullying Week 14th November 2011
Well done to our School Council - A big thanks to Amy for leading the assembly, Sasha for the music and Jack for the powerpoint.
School Council also supported Mrs Jackson in presenting the 'Golden Boot' to Year 5 for the most children who walked during 'Walk to School Week'.
Prizes were also chosen during assembly for one child in each class who had walked all week.

Many thanks once again to Miss Wilkinson for giving up her time

All the children told the rest of the school which country they had been learning about and EVERYONE enjoyed the Zumba lessons.

We managed to raise over £1700 for the NSPCC - well done everybody.
We were also visited by Wigan Warriors for a SmokeFree Assembly last week.
